Mark Loebach, Cara Livorio, Melissa Kuntz, Daria Sandburg, and Jennipher Satterly

From Satterly's realistic visual imagery of sumptuous luxury items, to Kuntz's visual interpretation of exploration halted by reality, each of the artists in modern+contemporary delineate simultaneously, a number of societal, economic, and ideological features in their artwork.

About the Artists:

Melissa Kuntz holds an MFA from SUNY Purchase and a BFA from Nova Scotia College of Art and Design. Kuntz has written reviews for Art in America and the Pittsburgh City Paper while also maintaining a studio practice. She is currently Full Professor and Art Department Chair at Clarion University of Pennsylvania.

Cara Livorio is a local artist and Pittsburgh native. She obtained her BFA in drawing and painting and then continued her studies of visual art and curatorship in Milan. After several years of painting murals and teaching art and art history in Italy, she returned to Pittsburgh and is enjoying the artistic and cultural opportunities in the city and the constant pursuit of her artwork.

Mark Loebach is a self-taught artist from Pittsburgh Pennsylvania. His paintings revolve around human experience, identity, and human nature. He spent years traveling thru Europe and all over the United States gaining perspective and using art as therapy. The years of constant change are represented in Loebach's paintings with dynamic and diverse colors. His current series of landscapes are observations from a year and a half of traveling back and forth between Colorado and Pennsylvania.

Jennipher Satterly holds an MFA from the Glasgow School of Art, Glasgow Scotland and a BFA from the Stature University of New York, Purchase new York. Most recently, she presented in solo exhibition, "Luxe", at tria Gallery in New York and exhibited her works at the Parallax Art Fair and New York Affordable Art Fair. She currently lives and works in New York New York.

Daria Sandburg is a Pittsburgh-based assemblage artist and jewelry designer. Using found historial objects brought meaningfully together to form a new coherent whole, Sandburg gives form to time and memory by visually creating a quiet glimpse into a worn, personal history.
